Add-ons What are these?

After launch How it works

  • Pay per update
No monthly bill. Send a change when you need one, like new photos, prices, hours or wording on a page
    $99 each
  • Care
Hosting kept running, monthly text and photo updates, uptime watch
    $39/mo
  • Pro Care
For Pro sites and sites with The Works: database, logins and weekly backups kept running, plus updates
    $79/mo

One update is a single change of up to about 30 minutes of work, like new photos, prices, hours or wording on a page. Bigger changes are quoted first.

About these prices: They're base prices for what's listed in each package. Your final price is set during a free consultation, based on what your site actually needs. Anything beyond the package, like extra features, big content needs or special integrations, gets quoted in writing before any work starts. See the service terms for the fine print.

How it compares

QuickBooks Online Simple Start*$38/moBooks only. Your website is a separate bill.

The Works + Pro Care$79/moYour website hosted, updated and backed up, plus books built for you.

Built for owner-operators and small crews. The Works is record-keeping, not accounting software. It doesn't connect to your bank, run payroll, file sales tax or prepare 1099s, and it isn't tax advice. If you have employees on payroll or inventory to track, QuickBooks is probably still the right tool, and I'll tell you so.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Don't see your question? Put it in your project brief.

Are the prices on the site final?

They're base prices for what each package includes. After you send your project brief, I'll give you a flat quote in writing. If your site fits a package, that's your price. If you need more, you'll know exactly what and why before anything starts.

Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?

You can, and for some people that's fine. A hand-built site loads faster, isn't boxed in by a template, and doesn't come with a platform's monthly fees and add-on charges. You also aren't the one wrestling with it at midnight.

Are there any other costs?

A few, and you'll know about them up front. I register and manage your domain under my account so you don't have to deal with it; the yearly renewal is billed to you at cost, usually $10 to $25. Most sites run on a free hosting tier, so there's no hosting bill. If your site needs paid services, like a database for logins, a card processor such as Stripe (which takes a small fee per payment) or an email service, those are spelled out in your quote and billed at cost. Details in the terms.

Do I really own my website?

Yes. You own your domain, your content, your design and your data. I just manage it for you. Want to take it elsewhere? Ask anytime and I'll transfer your domain, send you every file, and keep your site live for 30 to 45 days while you get set up. How handover works.

Can The Works replace QuickBooks?

For a lot of owner-operators, yes. If you mainly track what comes in, what goes out, receipts and mileage, and hand your accountant a profit and loss at year end, The Works covers it, built around your categories. If you need bank syncing, payroll, sales tax filing or inventory, stick with QuickBooks. Your books always export to a spreadsheet, so your accountant can use them either way.

Do I have to pay every month?

No. If you'd rather not have a subscription, just send changes when you need them and pay $99 per update, like new photos, prices, hours or wording on a page. Bigger changes, like a new page or feature, get quoted first. If you expect frequent changes, a care plan usually works out cheaper.

Do I have to get on a call?

No. The project brief is designed so you can lay everything out on your own time. If it's easier to talk it through, just say so and leave your number.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the site and how fast the content, like photos and service details, comes together. You'll get a timeline with your quote and a working preview link early on.

Do you only work in Bowling Green?

Bowling Green and South Central Kentucky are home base, and I'm happy to meet local clients in person. I've also built sites for businesses in Georgia and around Lake Erie, so distance isn't a problem.

Can you fix my current site instead?

Often, yes. Send the link in your brief and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth fixing or makes more sense to rebuild.

Ready when you are.

Tell me about your business and what you want your site to do. No call required.
